Unproductive
I had a really unproductive weekend. I hate that. Some days I just cant seem to muster up the energy to do anything, let alone be creative. I am still mulling over a couple options in my head regarding career choices (clients really). I really want to get involved in this online auction project, but I have worked with the guy in the past and he’s a real live wire. He moves fast with little planning and aside from me, he doesn’t hire the best help. In the past I have really felt hindered when trying to get something done. The problem is that if this takes off, and I miss the boat – the kicking I shall give myself is really going to hurt.
The local business marketing thing is plugging along at a decent pace, but its certainly not exciting. In order for me to stick around a boring gig, there better be a TON of money involved.
The day job almost came to a boil on Friday, 5 minutes before close. My dissaproval for the way things are handled here is becoming more and more obvious and I am not holding back. I would imagine they are shopping around for my replacement. Good luck with that.

Well, I am back. My motivation has returned to me – finally. I am joining forces with a local entrepeneur here in Milwaukee. We are starting a local business marketing power house. We have some amazing talent working with us, the projects are coming in, everything is looking good.
In the near future I plan to post some helpful articles on how to market your small business online.
Getting your site listed in Google in under 30 minutes

This is a short post, I have a ton of work to do and I don’t have much to say on this subject. This post is really just to call attention to the last post I made about neon sculptures in Milwaukee.
#1 link in Google for low hanging fruit is not only easily attainable, I can get it in under 30 minutes. Now a search phrase for neon sculptures in Milwaukee may seem like a silly phrase to you, but to a sculptor who makes things out of neon, this listing could be what determines if he gets to keep his lights on next month.
The yellow pages are dead, you have heard it before, and it’s true. Marketing your business, to your community is not difficult. We can show you what to do, or do it for you.
I will be announcing a local business marketing seminar that we will be holding in Milwaukee sometime in July. Stay tuned.
Keeping it simple with WordPress
One of the bigger projects that I am working on is the backend design of a site that is meant to coordinate appointments between two unrelated businesses. I can’t really go into too much detail about it, it’s potentially huge, but it’s still in the stage where it could be ripped off.
I will say however, that the amount of time and money I will save by using open source software is incredible. The task is to create a site where one business can schedule appointments for their clients with another business that compliments their service. I can achieve this by using
- WordPress
- WP Remix theme for WordPress
- The Appointy plugin
This is potentially a million dollar project and I believe that aside from the graphics, I can have the entire thing set up in two days without the need for tech guys.
